Welcome to our home and family! Where dogs are butterflies.We are Michael and Kim McKelvey. We live in Navarre, FL. This area of Florida is known as the Emerald Coast and has some of the world's most beautiful beaches.
We got our first Papillon in 2003. Bella was picked out to be
a loving pet. After about a year of falling in love with her, we decided to
find one to show. We were fortunate and was able to import a male from
Vangelis' Kennels in
Sweden.
Sanna Nylback entrusted us with a male. It is with him we started showing
Papillons. We now have a house full with a few that are currently in the
show ring. It was fairly easy for us to think of the name for our kennel. Having a wonderful marriage for over 17 years, we felt Mikims was perfect in expressing our love for each other and for this breed. All of our Papillon children live in our home and sleep with us at night. We are striving to produce healthy Papillons with wonderful temperaments, great movement, and beautiful coats. From my family to yours The decision to purchase a puppy is a big one. You will be adding a new member to your family for which you will be responsible for the next 15 years or so. We are here to help you make this very important decision. We want to supply you with as much information as possible so as to help you decide if a Papillon is the right dog for you. We do not believe in forcing people into buying a puppy from us. We are here to help you make an educated decision. As a prospective owner, we encourage visits, to meet the puppy's parents and to visit the puppy as it grows up. Puppies grow up and change so quickly, and we like prospective owners to feel like they are a part of the puppy's development as well. Continued Support The service that we provide does not end the day that you take the puppy home. You are more than welcome to contact us at any time with any questions you may have related to the puppy - it's diet, health, anything - even if it is only to have a chat and to let us know how junior is doing. And of course photos of puppies purchased from us are always welcome. Our babies may leave our home, but not our hearts and we never stop caring about them.
